YOUNG MPs FAIL FLOOR TEST
There was a news item in DNA dated 13.03. 2009, (page 11) saying that the Young MPs fail floor test. I do not think anybody was surprise on read this. This was expected as they belong to the elite families of politicians. Who will ask questions - a person who is hungry and thirsty and is having problems. The members of the elite families do not face any problems and are neither hungry nor thirsty. Therefore, why they should ask any questions in the Parliament and for what?
And what about the old MPs who are above 80+. Some of them were busy in one hospital bed or the other with different ailments. They have their own problems and have had no time to think of the problems of others. Some were busy in public relation so that they could at least become PM before the world comes to an end.
And the MPs in between were all busy in their own business or sleeping when the Parliament session was on and in some cases the public was watching on TV how the chairs, microphones and other items were flying in the Parliament.
THE THIRD FRONT
We understand that Mr. Deve Gowda laid the foundation for the Third Front as an alternative to the other two. After forming the Front they have started blaming UPA and NDA saying that UPA allies are deserting Congress and NDA is a sinking ship respectively. Fair enough. At the same time they are worried that their own allies may jump the ship after election. This shows that the Third Front is like a dried leaf about to fall and are not sure where the wind will take it. Whether it will fall in the flowing water or in fire. This is going to happen as the tug-of-war will begin before the result are declared, for the post of PM.
The TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu has promised a lot of things to the farmers and the poor. Has he realized where the money comes from? Is he going to pay from his pocket, from his party or from the pockets of the citizen by imposing additional tax. If he is paying from his pocket or from his party, then we can call him a Statesman. If not, then he is an opportunist and has no right to do so.
Every Party, big or small, has glued together with one party or more parties for the election. Once the results are declared,(like arrival of monsoon), the glue will give way and the parties will fall one by one and will start swinging from one side to the other as the tunes played. The voters will have an opportunity to see a Grand and wonderful Circus, which they have never viewed so far, as the price for their votes.
